Presented today is this incredible Hopi Kachina doll, depicting the  Hano Mana Kachina. This beautifully dramatic example, standing 32 inches tall, was carved by the talented and respected carver, Martin Dallas, of Moencopi. Martin carves with a with a sensitive vitality, and his work is always reverent and sincere.  The incredible doll comes from a large piece of Cottonwood root that i found in Big Bug Creek, and gave to him as a gift. This doll was too big to photograph in my studio, and i had to move it out to my back yard. This is an epic example of Martin's work, and both from the standpoint of subject matter and remarkable appearance, it would definitely call attention to itself. i am very proud to represent the work of this talented artist, and to offer his artwork to all of you, my friends.
