  • Condition: One circulated Government of Mexico BOND issued 13 Dec 1843, 1000 Pesos at 6%; 2 sheets of very thin paper printed first page only but entries for interest paid cover the remaining 3 pages. There are several stamps and a circular cut cancel at the center which remains attached. Last interest was paid Oct 9, 1851. It measures 11-3/4" by 9"; it has a watermark which is Scott/Sternad Wmk. 44-1, PAPEL SELLADO (underlined w/wavy line). None of the signers have been ID'ed. It's not listed in Std. Cat. of Mexican Coins, Paper Money, Stocks, Bonds and Medals, Colin R. Bruce II, KM Pubs., Iola WI 1981; this catalog has more bonds listed than in any of my references. (Catalog with a large Orange Eagle on front.) I checked with a long time collector in Mexico City and he confirmed it was on his want list as he did not have it. I had two of the bonds and sold him the other one. They were in similar condition which is decent considering the date and thin paper it is printed on.

    One circulated Government of Mexico BOND issued 13 Dec 1843, 1000 Pesos at 6%; 2 sheets of very thin paper printed first page only but entries for interest paid cover the remaining 3 pages.
