    Hopi Kachina carver, Tyson Nequatewa has been creating kachinas for over 40 years.  Over the years, he has won many awards for his work.  Tyson expertly carves each kachina out of the root of a cottonwood tree with an amazing amount of detail and precision.  Each kachina that Tyson carves, has a highly detailed corn body.
    The Crow Mother (Angwusnasomtaka) Kachina is called, “is a figure of great dignity.  She appears on all three mesas, usually in connection with the initiation of the children, although she also appears on other occasions.
