    Description

    NATIVE AMERICAN
HOPI ZUNI SUN FACE KACHINA BY JEROME NEQUATEWA
Half Hopi, half Zuni Jerome Nequatewa was raised with the knowledge of the culture and customs of both the Hopi and the Zuni.  Jerome was taught to carve by his father, the late Harold Nequatewa.  Jerome’s kachinas are delicately carved, showing attention to movement and detail.
The Sun Face Kachina represents warmth, shelter for the old, bright future, and playfulness for the young.
Jerome yields to the natural shape of cottonwood root in order to create this wonderfully carved Father and Mother Sun Face Kachina.  This marvelous carving would be a great addition to your kachina or Native American art collection.  Signed
