    Description

This 10" tall "Hopi" style Corn Shalako kachina is by Native carver H. Jim. Am calling it Hopi "style" rather than Hopi because: 1) it feels a bit too heavy to be traditional cottonwood tree root and, 2) Jim is not typically a Hopi name. More likely, it is Navajo. The Shalako dances to bring rain, important for the growth of corn, one of the four sacred crops. Signed on bottom. Very good condition. One owner. Ships fully insured.
